In most liftgates, work is performed by a system of hydraulic cylinders, hoses, and pumps which convert stored electrical energy into platform movement. An inherent drawback of these hydraulic systems is that most of the input energy is lost as it translates to motion. This loss means increased energy consumption in the form of additional fuel to an internal combustion vehicle, or a reduction in range to a battery electric vehicle.
The ReGEN RailTrac is powered by a revolutionary new drive system developed in partnership with the motion specialists at RISE Robotics. The result is a liftgate that consumes up to 100% less energy than hydraulic equivalents.

Energy Efficient
Lifting is performed by brushless motors and a system of pulleys to for powerful movement with minimal input. Plus ReGEN’s namesake regeneration capability is an exclusive in the industry. No other liftgate captures the energy of a downward cycle and sends it back to the power supply. This combination slashes the net energy input required to operate the machine.
In a heavy delivery route, ReGEN will actually replace more electricity than it consumes, cutting the electrical load placed on the vehicle by the liftgate to zero.
Smooth & Precision
ReGEN’s proprietary drive system delivers a level of precision that is vastly superior to common liftgate hydraulics. Controls are tuned to eliminate abrupt stops and starts, and the platform travel is computer controlled to stay level within a fraction of an inch.

Intelligence
ReGEN is equipped with an LTE antenna to broadcast liftgate performance information. Remote monitoring is included with every ReGEN for the first year. Operators can choose to receive e-mail notifications of fault codes and access status feeds through an online portal.

With ReGEN, there is never a risk of spilling hydraulic fluid all over the road from a broken hydraulic line. There is nothing to lubricate, no fluids to replace, and no risk of oil leaks.
